EMSACADEMI.COM ("we," "us," or "our") is an authorized NAEMT and American Heart Association training center. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and during course registration.

Information we collect

When you register for a course, contact us, or use this site, we collect:

• Contact information: name, email address, phone number, and mailing address
• Messages and requests you send through the contact, group-training, and class-registration forms on this site, including anything you choose to tell us in them
• Course-related information: certification level, course history, and certification card numbers, kept to verify prior certifications at recertification
• Payment information, collected and stored by our third-party registration and payment provider — we do not store your full payment card details on our own systems
• Basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, collected through standard website analytics

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Register you for courses and process payment
• Issue and track certification cards and continuing education records
• Communicate with you about upcoming classes, schedule changes, and certification renewal reminders as your card approaches expiration
• Respond to questions submitted through our contact or group-training request forms
• Improve this website and our course offerings

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-party services

Course registration and payment processing are handled by a third-party platform . That provider has its own privacy policy governing how it handles your payment and registration data, which we encourage you to review at the time you register. We also use standard web analytics tools to understand site traffic; these do not collect payment information.

Messages sent through the forms on this website are stored with Google Firebase, the service that hosts this site, and can only be read by our staff. A copy of each message may also be forwarded to our inbox by an email delivery service.

Cookies

This site uses cookies for basic functionality and analytics. You can disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site features, such as staying logged in to a registration portal.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect the personal information we hold, and we rely on our registration and payment provider's own security measures — including PCI-compliant payment handling — for payment data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention

We retain course registration and certification records for as long as needed to fulfill our obligations as an authorized training center — including verifying past certifications for recertification purposes — and in line with New York State Department of Health, Bureau of EMS and Trauma Systems (NYSDOH BEMS) record-keeping requirements. Basic contact information is retained for as long as you remain an active student or until you ask us to delete it, subject to the certification-record retention above.

Your choices

You can ask us to correct inaccurate contact information, or ask what personal information we hold about you, by contacting us using the information below. Completed certification history may need to be retained regardless of a deletion request, in order to comply with certifying-body and state requirements.

Age of participants

Our NAEMT and clinical-provider AHA courses (BLS, ACLS, PALS) are intended for adult healthcare providers and students 18 and older. Heartsaver-level lay-rescuer courses may be taken by participants age 16 and older with a parent or guardian's consent. We collect only the information necessary to register a participant and issue their certification.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our registration services after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
